Ryan Martin’s Shares Video For ‘Blue Rose’

Fresh from a very well received gig at Daryl’s House Club, Ryan Martin will showcase at Mondo.NYC on Wednesday, October 13th at 9:30PM. The live performance featured in “Blue Rose” was filmed at Old Soul Studios in Catskill, NY where Martin recorded his 2020 album Wandercease and features the album’s core band: Jared Samuel (Kevin Morby), Nick Kinsey (Waxahatchee), David Lizmi (Fun), and Connor Grant (Sean Lennon). “Blue Rose” – an additional performance filmed at the Old Soul session, and one of Martin’s most transcendently beautiful songs – premiered Tuesday, October 12th via Look At My Records!.

“A blue rose doesn’t exist in nature; it represents the desire we feel for things that seem so beautiful and alluring but are actually illusions we conjure up in our minds. It was written about heroin but it could be anything – a relationship, possessions, social status. It was a favorite among the studio band and very much inspired by the music of Pat Hull, a songwriter I have loved and played around with since my earliest days in Chico back in 2007.” –Ryan Martin
